這個世界有時也真的很奇怪，還記得當初第一集《Uncharted Drake’s Fortune》還未推出的時候，外間的迴響不算太大。可是我卻滿懷期待，希望玩玩這隻娛樂性十足的作品。奈何當時還沒有PS3，也特地到遊戲店試玩並介紹給顧客，讓更多人認識這款遊戲。
當然，《Uncharted》本身有它的不足之處，可是整體遊玩仍是賞心悅目的。畫面的水準之高實在無話可說，其中一個最廣為討論的，是主角的衣服會因為浸水變濕而顏色深沉起來，其實這個系統早在2006年的《盜墓者羅拉》的第七集《Tomb Raider: Legend》已經引入，最新的一集《Tomb Raider: Underworld》羅拉更會因為攀爬得多而令身體沾染泥污。不過無可否認，《Uncharted》無疑是將這系列發揚光大的作品，製作人也聰明地注入《盜》沒有的新元素：射擊，加上妙語如珠的對白、生動的配音、穩陣的劇情，很輕易就成為一棵新的搖錢樹。
這個世界有時也真的很奇怪，來到兩年後的第二集，《Uncharted 2: Among Thieves》挾著雷霆萬鈞之勢堂堂推出，叫好叫座，不但成為PS3繼《Metal Gear Solid 4》之後首月賣得最快的遊戲，有評論更打出了20分滿分之中奪得21分這個誇張、離譜的分數。這一刻，早在前作已經極力推薦的我，卻又覺得過譽得有點嚴重。實在必須要提出遊戲不完美的地方，訓練一下批判性思考，以提高玩家的要求。首先，我承認遊戲的確比上一集出色，劇情更豐富，畫面更華麗，電影感更強。可是上集不足的地方，到今天仍然存在，如果輕易給予滿分，甚至「爆分」，實在難以令人信服。
首先，《Uncharted 2》最大的問題在於，它不是原創的。這是一個不爭的是事實，但同時也是無可厚非的事實。最多人拿來比較的，很自然又是《盜》。誠然，和《盜》相比，《Uncharted 2》在娛樂性方面遠遠超過《盜》，不但故事更精彩，題材限制較少而有更多變化，劇情和場景設計之緊湊也是《盜》望塵莫及的。可是說到兩者最顯著的共通元素：攀爬，就明顯地以《盜》稍勝一籌。
常常覺得《盜》越來越被輕視，其實打從第一集起，《盜》算是電子遊戲的一個里程碑。英文有個一遊戲類型，往往為中文所忽略的，叫做「Platforming」，如果硬要翻譯做中文的話，大概可以叫做「跳平台遊戲」。「跳平台遊戲」的始祖之一，就是任天堂的經典作品《Super Mario Bros.》。中文的媒體或者會將《Mario》定為動作遊戲，但比起真正的動作遊戲，如《惡魔城》、《吞食天地》，明顯看到《Mario》更著重跳躍和著地的技巧，要求玩家由一個平台跳到另一個平台，不要「跌落街」而死。到了PS年代，立體遊戲開始興起，多個類型都由2D走到3D，而3D Platforming的始祖，就是《盜》。《盜》將跳平台帶到立體世界，比2D更講求精準技巧，並因此成為經典（難道你真的以為純粹靠那大胸脯麼？）。可惜來到第七代家用遊戲，《盜》因為種種因素，如故事和人物發揮有限，未能突破類型和關卡設計等，暫時進入死胡同。同時去年3D Platforming因為《Mirrors Edge》而再推到一個新的層次，不過此乃後話。
言歸正傳，在Platforming這個元素方面，《Uncharted 2》是明顯比下去的。不是說只有《盜》的就一定最好，看看《Assassin’s Creed》就憑著穩健冷靜的處理而自成一格，《波斯王子》則著重一氣呵成的流麗，就算成績平庸的《Bionic Commando》也有其對爽快的控制。然後看回《Uncharted 2》，主角就像會輕功似的，再高的石壆再闊的溝谷，不用發力隨便一跳都可以輕易著陸，欠缺挑戰性，也欠缺實感，無疑削弱了遊戲的緊張和投入度。貼牆掩護亦有同樣的問題，由貼牆到離開的控制仍有待改善，尤其這次新加入潛行元素，有時混亂起來想離開掩護卻會無端飛撲起來，不夠瀟灑之餘也容易被誤人發現。
幸然，《Uncharted 2》唯一明顯的不足就只有這一點，再數下去就是雞蛋裡挑骨頭。而遊戲的其他元素，我也乖乖和其他評論點頭，實在是無檞可擊。當中用到倒敘的手法亦見製作人的心思。玩家一開始操控著從昏迷醒過來的主角，還未定神就要面對連串的動作，一方面要玩家熱身，一方面令玩家更易代入主角，努力回想意外發生的前後。爬上山頂，火車墜落，才有一個喘息位，並將整個故事娓娓道來。我們習慣將遊戲的這種非線性的手法稱為電影感，但其實這次應用在遊戲上，似乎更湊效。
要讚的其實也差不多，總是離不開那幾隻字，所以也不在此詳述。製作遊戲比拍攝電影更商業，加上遊戲本身題材上的空間極高，因此可以百份百肯定續作的可能。因此也希望賺了錢的製作人肯花點心思，除了抽取其他遊戲的元素並推到極致之外，也可加入一些畫面以外具標誌性的特點，令遊戲走進經典的殿堂。
